    Jenny

    Jenny

We were blessed to have Jenny for 18 years while growing up in Houston, Texas.  It sounds silly but it really felt like she was there for us during the rough times.  She passed away last week.  We will miss her very much.  I believe she was the 19th oldest dog in the United States.

A Giraffe Giving You The Look

A Giraffe Giving You The Look

Sometime you just see a giraffe giving you the look and you just have to draw it.  How many people have seen this look while at the zoo?

    My Wife on a Drive

    My Wife on a Drive

Most of the time I like to draw from a photograph but, this time I decided to try my hand at a little sketching from life.  It was a challenge to say the least because it was around the time of sunset so we were quickly losing light and my wife didn’t always stay completely still.  Really it is just hard to contain her beauty on a sketch pad.  All that being said, I am pretty happy with the end result.

    My Grandpa

    My Grandpa

This is a tribute to my late Grandpa, Edward Wessel.  He was a great man who cared deeply about his wife, children, and grand children.  I am so glad my wife, Christy, got to meet him before he passed away.  He said that Christy is the smartest person he has ever met.  Did I mention he was a very wise man.

    Anatomy Study #1

    Anatomy Study #1

This was inspired by a recent visit to the Ringling Art Museum where I saw many anatomy studies done by Peter Paul Rubens.
